Sourcing furniture
We have many resources to tap into when it comes to sourcing the perfect piece of furniture for your project. Whether it’s Edwardian, Indonesian, French or mid-century you’re looking for, we’re sure we can come up with several good options to meet your brief. This process can require a lot of time, patience and diligence on our part.
Whilst all initial sourcing is included in most projects estimates, additional sourcing (for particularly rare or hide to find pieces) is charged for by the hour.
Furniture alterations
Every project is different but in most of my sideboard/cabinet to bathroom vanity unit transformations, there is always some element of woodworking alterations involved. Examples of adapatations are listed below:
LEGS/FEET
It is often necessary to reduce the length of legs or replace the type of legs or feet completely for a different look.
drawers
Where cabinets have drawers that will be in the way of any plumbing, it will be necessary to adapt drawers or in some cases, make drawers completely false.
adding depth
Some pieces of furniture do not have the required depth to comfortably house a basin and or tap. Where we are going to be installing a solid surface countertop, it is possible to add depth to the furniture by adding a panel or strip of wood to the back of the furniture.
REPLACING DAMAGED OR MISSING PARTS
When we source, we do our best to find out as much about the condition of a piece before we purchase it for you. However, as we are sourcing from all over the UK (and often further afield) it isn’t always possible for me to physically inspect each item myself. Therefore, once I have the piece in my hands it often becomes apparent that repairs may be required. This can be anything from replacing an entire back or base panel to recreating a missing piece of carving.
Graphic design
Many of my clients find it extremely helpful to see a graphical representation of what their finished vanity unit might look like. This is especially true when trying to decide between items such as basin, paint colour and even hardware. To this end, I offer a graphic design service to bring your project to life.
Graphic design is charged for by the hour.
Sourcing brassware
It is often incredibly time consuming sourcing the perfect brassware for a project. This is something we are happy to do for you to ensure that your bathroom vanity unit looks its absolute best and that the entire bathroom comes together as one cohesive design.
Sourcing bathroom accessories
